Empowering You to Overcome Life's Challenges
Holistic psychotherapy for mental wellness and personal growth.
Holistic psychotherapy for mental wellness and personal growth.
My name is Diane, I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, treating the whole person and not just their symptoms. I use evidence-based techniques and work collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and a CBT Therapist. Being a member of the BACP, I work ethically at all times and will provide you with a non-judgemental and safe space to talk about any problem. By putting your trust in the “counselling process” you will begin to connect to your “authentic self” and in return, you will start to flourish as your self-esteem and confidence improves. Counselling gives you the tools and freedom to make positive changes in your life and I will support you through this journey.
The counselling process is unique for everyone and I will work in collaboration with clients to help them to help them feel “in control”, empowered and more self-confident. I support my clients to make positive changes by working at their pace in a non-judgmental safe environment, giving them the tools to reach their goals and potential.
Counselling can help with any worries and concerns that you are struggling with, from depression to anxiety and self-esteem issues. Together we can unpick, explore and disrupt negative patterns or cycles of behaviour.
I always put my client’s needs first and consistently work to professional standards set out by the BACP. My priority is to create a good therapeutic relationship by working with integrity, empathy and compassion, I value my clients and will treat them with respect at all times.
Below is a brief description of the evidence-based techniques and approaches that I use:
This is “talking therapy” where clients can talk freely without judgement, during the process the client can begin to understand and explore their own thoughts and feelings.
A psychoanalytical approach exploring how we communicate with others, this is a useful tool to use when clients are managing difficult relationships, either personal or professional.
This is a holistic psychotherapy approach which helps to increase “self-awareness”, it supports clients to become more connected of their feelings and emotions.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is based on the theory that thoughts, emotions, feelings and behaviour are linked. CBT works to explore these elements, working together we gradually change and adapt negative thought patterns and behaviour.

Therapy at Authentic Self Counselling can benefit anyone who is struggling with a mental health challenge or looking to improve their overall emotional well-being. I work with young people and adults.
In your first therapy session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals for treatment. We will also talk about your medical history and any current symptoms you may be experiencing.
The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Many clients attend therapy once a week, while others may attend less frequently. We will work together to develop a personalised treatment plan.
